It's ok, I'm a girl with depression and my genitals don't really help me get sympathy in any way, because just like you guys, I have lived in a family where I was expected not to cry, not to complain, that my feelings are not that important, so I can't talk to my family about this and can't seek support. I don't feel like many more people care about me, because I have not really told many people.

Maybe you're just in the wrong circle is all. My folks, both girls and boys, accepted me with open arms when I spoke to them about my ongoing depression. It's wrong to generalise.

Ya not seen the huge ad campaigns on the tv and billboards and internet calling for men to talk and communicate their feelings and be open about facing depression, in the name of reducing men's suicides, our current biggest threat, now well known by all? Everyone cares. The UK government cares, that's when you know it's extreme.

Honestly why should anyone? It's YOUR responsibility to get help and seek treatment for your depression. The responsibility of the society is to provide access to treatment and help but it's your own when it comes to caring about your mental health. So stop self pitying yourself and do the responsible thing and get help. Get up and do something about the damn depression. Good luck to you.
